One of the most influential Sporting superstars of the U.S.A. The stuff of dreams is what you call LeBron’s story. After being touted as the next basketball superstar from his high school in Ohio, LeBron was immediately drafted and picked by Cleveland cavaliers in 2003. Yes, he skipped school for Ball, and won the rookie of the year award from NBA the same season, “Stuff of dreams”. Winning the Most valuable player (MVP) by NBA for the 2009, 2010 consecutive seasons established him as one of the league’s most premier players.

His story is a Unique one, let me explain by starting from his school-era, humongous size and extreme athleticism are some things that don’t gel well usually. LeBron was gifted in that sense where he peaked his height at 6’8 and weighs 113kgs. Physicality attracts attention and media hopped upon the school kid making him a sensation even before playing the courts in NBA. What set LeBron apart from the crowd was his court vision. During his school era, James helped the team finish the first season undefeated, in his sophomore year they finished the season with only one defeat, winning the titles in both years. Nicknamed “Ohio Mr. Basketball” these seasons gave him the deserved publicity. During his junior year he averaged 29 points per game and became the first junior year player to be named “Gatorade National player of the year” becoming the first one to do it while being in the junior year. In his senior year, he averaged 31.6 points per game and was named “Ohio Mr. Basketball” for a third time, with the Magazine ‘Sports illustrated’ naming him arguably the best high school player in the country. In 2002, James’s bid for the NBA draft was unsuccessful and he was disappointed because of the eligibility criteria. He participated in 3 year-end all star games and made it official that he would be entering the NBA draft.

He was the first pick of choice for the year he was drafted as a rookie. He was immediately picked up by Cleveland cavaliers and was a very valuable addition to the then struggling side. I his debut he scored 25 points, again setting the record for a rookie’s debut performance. His performances for the team continued and he finished the season with 20.9 points /game. He became the first player of the cavaliers to win the rookie of the year.

Winning the rookie of the year he was picked in, he rose to superstardom in the consecutive years with stupendous performances. He had performed to his peak and helped the team qualify for the NBA-finals but in the next 4 season they still could not win it. James was already a superstar and was termed as “king James” by the media, but the king still had not got his crown. Rumors were afloat about the future of the “king” and the contract with cavaliers was about to end. James had an option of becoming a free agent and he became one after 2010 and was immediately signed by Miami heats. This created a riveting controversy in his home-club and the entire scene was titled “The decision” by ESPN. Several disappointment letters came his way by the previous club fans and owners alike but james was unfazed by it. The season he joined heats, scored a 26.7pt/game average and finished second.

The next season was his coronation as a king, he won the title and was relentless throughout the season. He succeeded Kobe Bryant (29,Lakers) in scoring 20,000 points by the age of 28, also making history by making heats win the second time consecutively. Reached the finals for a third time consecutively but lost this time to San Antonio spurs.

The season after that he opted out of his contract yet again and made his return to Cleveland cavaliers. A homecoming was plagued by injuries in the early games of the season but returned back soon and rampaged with a 25.3 point average. The season was a fantastic one as King james reached the finals for 5th time consecutively but his bid for a third title was foiled due to injuries to his teammates. The “cavs” lost to golden state warriors that season. The next season has been beautifully penned by Biography.com, “Over the course of 2015-16, the Cavs overcame the distraction of a mid-season coaching change and breezed through the playoffs to earn a rematch with the Warriors, marking the sixth straight NBA Finals appearance for “King James.” In perhaps the crowning achievement of his career, he led his team back from a 3-1 deficit, scoring 41 points in both Games 5 and 6, before recording a triple double in Game 7 to give the Cavs their first championship in franchise history” Courtesy: https://www.biography.com/athlete/lebron-james

King went on to giving career best performances in the next seasons reaching finals for 8 consecutive times but had to loose to the golden state warriors who won 3 out of the 4 seasons both teams met in the championship finals. He opted out of the franchise this time with pleasant memories and joined the Lakers who are the “Real Madrid” of basketball having Abdul-Jabbar and Magic Johnson amongst their all time greats. His season though was plagued with injuries and the king and his team were not qualified for the playoffs and the crown slipped.

Among other achievements, James still plays for the Lakers, has won 2 consecutive gold medals in 2008 and 2012 in Olympics. Currently sitting out on injuries and awaiting the comeback to the next season, the king wants his crown back.
